We're excited to offer our passengers the option to purchase liquified biogas (LBG) in proportion to the amount of fuel used for their journey. This means you can actively contribute to reducing your carbon footprint when you travel with TT-Line.

A greener journey with Nils Holgersson & Peter Pan

The LBG you purchase will be seamlessly integrated into the fuel mix of future voyages on board our ships Nils Holgersson and Peter Pan, even if you travel on one of our other ships. This innovative approach ensures that the environmental benefits are realized in the most effective way.

Example: You booked your crossing with Akka and added the component "CO2 Compensation" in the booking dialog. Since LBG cannot be used on Akka, your share will be used for future crossings of Nils Holgersson or Peter Pan. That way you can still do your part in reducing CO2 emissions.

We understand that each route has a different length and therefore different fuel consumption patterns. That's why we differentiate the LBG option per route, making it a flexible and customized solution for your specific journey. The basis for calculating the LBG purchase is the average consumption per crossing and thus the average CO2 emission.

The calculation is based on the emissions for the transportation of a passenger car with 2 passengers on an average crossing according to the Energy Efficiency Operational Index according to IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee - MEPC.1/Circular.684.
