TT-Line GmbH & Co. KG
The privately-owned shipping group TT-Line has been operating direct ferry crossings between Germany and southern Sweden since 1962. As the market leader in passenger and freight traffic, the Lübeck-based shipping company pursues a foresighted fleet policy based on quality and innovative technology for the benefit of customers and the environment. Every day there are up to 14 crossings between Germany and Sweden to choose from. All in all, some 740,000 passengers and more than 360,000 freight units are transported on these routes each year.
All in all, it operates six ships of its own. On the long-established Travemünde-Trelleborg route, the ships in operation today are the four modern ferries NILS HOLGERSSON, PETER PAN, ROBIN HOOD und NILS DACKE, with the last two being combi carriers. All four ships are powered by diesel-electric drive, which is very environmentally friendly. For this reason, these vessels are referred to as ‘Green Ships’. The route between Rostock and Trelleborg, which TT-Line has been operating since 1992, is served by the comfortable ro-ro ferries TOM SAWYER and HUCKLEBERRY FINN. A ferry service between Travemünde and Helsingborg geared especially towards freight has been in operation since 2003 with the Green Ships ROBIN HOOD and NILS DACKE.
The commissioning of the newly-built Green Ships NILS HOLGERSSON and PETER PAN in 2001 and the implementation of the ‘Green Bridge Concept’ in January 2008 were further steps for TT-Line in the group’s orientation towards environmentally friendly ship operation and propulsion. The Lübeck-based shipping company has received a number of awards for its consistent environmental commitment and its fleet policy, which is geared towards great customer benefits.
