The combi-carriers servicing the Travemünde-Trelleborg Line have been named after two freedom fighters.

Robin Hood
Robin Hood is one of Great Britain’s greatest legends and the story of his life as an outcast in Sherwood Forest has survived for many hundreds of years. Robin Hood and his men took from the rich and gave to the poor, while mocking the Sheriff of Nottingham. The story, which takes place during the 12th and 13th centuries, has been filmed many times with Errol Flynn, Sean Connery and Kevin Costner among those who have played the part of Robin Hood.

Nils Dacke
Nils Dacke, in contrast to both the previous names, is not an imaginary character. Dacke was behind an uprising against King Gustav Vasa during the 16th century. As leader of this, the largest farmers’ uprising in Sweden, he forced the King to accept a truce in 1542. It only took one year before Vasa gathered soldiers and conquered Nils Dacke and his men. Dacke tried to escape, but was caught by the King’s men and killed.
